This list of Prisoner of War Camps, Italian Service Unit Camps, and Prisoner of War Hospitals is still being developed with new locations added as we work through the weekly reports located on NARA microfilm #66-538 (population lists June 1942-June 1946).

The POW Camps in Wisconsin during World War II included:

McCoy (Camp Robert Bruce), Sparta, Monroe County, WI (base camp)

Enemy alien internment camp:
•McCoy (Camp), Sparta, Monroe County, WI (German, Italian, and Japanese)

•Camp McCoy Post Cemetery, Camp McCoy, WI (transferred to Camp Butler National Cemetery. in IL in June 1947). However, the Japanese POW cremations remain at this active military installation.

There were 1 base camps, 50 branch camps, 1 internment location, and 1 cemetery in WI. More information in my latest book titled Prisoner of War Camps Across America and is available in Kindle format on Amazon and in Nook format on Barnes and Noble.
